QTech Games Shares Africa Strategy Ahead of SBWA and GEFA Summits in Dakar

West Africa continues to strengthen its position as one of Africa’s fastest growing gaming markets, driven by rising smartphone adoption, digital payment innovation and evolving regulatory frameworks. With nine weeks to go, the 11th annual Sports Betting West Africa+ Summit and the 2nd annual Gaming Event Francophone Africa will bring the region’s leading gaming professionals together at the King Fahd Palace Hotel in Dakar, Senegal, from 14 to 16 October 2026. QTech Games joins as a sponsor of both co located events, and its Head of Region for Africa is using the run up to share how the company is approaching content distribution across the continent.

Key Highlights

  • SBWA+ Summit and GEFA 2026 co locate in Dakar, Senegal from 14 to 16 October

  • QTech Games sponsors both events, marking 10 years of operations and more than 140 clients served

  • Its all inclusive licence fee model and unified game launcher let operators integrate once for a full content portfolio

  • Nigeria’s 230 million population and Ghana’s 24 percent online sector growth headline the region’s opportunity

  • QTech was named Strategic Partner of the Year at the 2026 Africa Gaming Expo

One Platform for Two Regions

Co locating the SBWA+ Summit and GEFA 2026 creates a single platform for stakeholders from both Anglophone and Francophone Africa to exchange insight, explore new opportunities and build business relationships that would otherwise require attending two separate events on two separate calendars.

A Decade of Distribution

Celebrating 10 years of operations, QTech Games has established itself as a leading game distributor for emerging markets, serving more than 140 clients with the support of a global team of over 100 employees. Its all inclusive licence fee model, unified game launcher and wallet integration API let operators access a diverse portfolio of premium gaming content through a single integration, backed by multilingual support and a mobile first platform enhanced by AI powered recommendations.

Ekaterina Mayorova, Head of Region, Africa at QTech Games, shared insight into content distribution, market expansion and the opportunities shaping the continent’s gaming landscape ahead of the Dakar summits. Asked what distinguishes a successful content distribution platform in today’s competitive iGaming market, she said: “Firstly, you need a strong Africa first strategy, built around local market needs, with a deep understanding of player behaviour across different African regions. By working closely with suppliers from an early stage to help shape that content for diverse audiences, and growing exclusive content opportunities for local operators, QTech always stays at the new. That’s why we pair our aggregation platform with local market intelligence and engagement tools such as tournaments and promotions, so operators can activate content, not merely host it.”

The Scale of the West African Opportunity

On the opportunity emerging across the region, Mayorova pointed to hard numbers: “Nigeria alone offers a population of more than 230 million with a deep rooted sports culture, rapidly improving digital infrastructure and a young, mobile native audience, while Ghana’s online sector grew around 24 percent last year on the back of strong digital adoption and a progressive regulatory framework. Across the region, the growth engine is unmistakably via the mobile channel.” She cautioned that products built for European desktop audiences simply do not translate: “They’re too heavy, too slow and priced for the wrong wallet. Success demands lightweight, fast loading games, including crash, instant win and light titles alongside slots, smooth integration with local payment methods and mobile money, and genuine localisation.”

What Technology Partners Must Deliver

Asked what qualities technology partners need to support long term success, Mayorova named three: “Reliability, relevance and responsiveness. Reliability means a tech stack that performs at scale, which translates to fast integration, high uptime and games that load instantly even on entry level devices and patchy connections. Relevance means curation, not just volume. Operators don’t need ten thousand titles, they need the right titles for their audience. Responsiveness is the quality most often underestimated. A technology partner has to track those developments in lockstep, with 24/7 support, rapid certification of new content and a roadmap shaped by what operators on the ground are telling us.”

Partnership as the Core Model

On collaboration across the ecosystem, Mayorova said: “As the leading game aggregator for emerging markets, we sit between hundreds of studios and operators across Africa, Asia and LatAm, and our job is to make both sides more successful than they’d be without us.” She pointed to recent rollouts with BongoBongo across Tanzania, Zambia, Kenya and Uganda, and KodeDice’s expansion across Africa’s fastest growing markets, as examples of the content mix scaling quickly. Being named Strategic Partner of the Year at the 2026 Africa Gaming Expo, she added, “reflects that philosophy: we win when our partners win, in every market we serve.”

Looking ahead to Dakar, Mayorova said the SBWA+ Summit “already ranks among the premier conferences for senior executives in the African gaming and betting sector,” while GEFA “is fast rising in standing because Francophone Africa is a very interesting and strategically important market, offering strong long term growth.” She added that the events “facilitate vital conversations that expand our collective knowledge of the current demands and characteristics of the continent.”
