The Central Bulletin is committed to being readable by everyone.

Our Commitment
The Central Bulletin is committed to making thecentralbulletin.com accessible to all readers, including those who use assistive technologies, have visual impairments, motor limitations, or cognitive differences. We believe that access to quality journalism should not be limited by disability or technical barrier.
Our Accessibility Standards
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Our current efforts include:
Semantic HTML
Our pages are built using proper heading hierarchy, semantic HTML elements, and logical reading order to support screen readers and navigation tools.
Colour Contrast
We maintain sufficient colour contrast ratios between text and background to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Dark mode and high-contrast display modes are tested during development.
Image Alt Text
All editorial images are accompanied by descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked to be skipped by screen readers.
Keyboard Navigation
The site can be navigated using a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse or pointer device.
Font and Text Sizing
Text is sized relative to browser defaults and can be resized using standard browser controls without loss of content or functionality.
Link Clarity
Links are written to be descriptive out of context. We avoid “click here” and “read more” as standalone link text.
Known Limitations
Some content areas may not yet meet full accessibility standards:
- Older embedded content (historical video, complex data tables) may not be fully accessible
- Some third-party widgets (social media embeds, advertising) operate outside our direct control
We are actively working to address these areas.
Third-Party Tools
Some functionality on thecentralbulletin.com is provided by third-party platforms. These include newsletter sign-up tools, comment systems, and advertising providers. Their accessibility practices are governed by their own standards, which are outside our control.
Feedback and Support
If you experience difficulty accessing any content on The Central Bulletin, we want to know. Your feedback helps us improve.

Ongoing Work
Accessibility is not a project with a finish line. We review and test our site on a regular basis. When we publish new features or redesign pages, accessibility testing is part of the process.
This statement is reviewed and updated annually, or when significant changes are made to the site.
